Shoes are perhaps one of the most common guilty pleasures for women. Splurging hard earned money on a good pair of shoes is always worth it but when you start to accumulate and have one too many pairs of shoes, buying is just no longer a practical option. However, this does not mean that you’re forever stuck with what you have until they go bad. DIY shoe makeovers are a great way to give old shoes a fresh new look. Here in this post you will find great ideas for easy but cute DIY shoe makeovers.

  • Cap toe flats – cap toe flats are so cute and trendy but a new pair from a good brand can burn a hole in your pocket if you’re tight on the budget. The good news here is that you can make your own cap toe flats. All you will need are a pair of old ballet flats (it doesn’t matter whether they have round or pointy toes), some paint and tape. Simply mark the line where you want the cap to end with tape. If you’re using spray paint, do consider covering the whole shoe in tape to avoid unwanted paint on surfaces not intended to be painted.  Paint the cap toe with you desired color and you should be done.

  • Studded shoes – sometimes, a plain pair of shoes tends to get really boring amidst a sea of gorgeous shoes. Add a fun and edgy twist to a pair of shoes that you really like by studding them. This is the perfect idea for a DIY shoe makeover if you want something that’s fit for a glamorous rocker chic. Studding strappy heels is a popular option but you can also do this with flats and with boots.

  • Party Girl Heels – nothing makes a party outfit more complete than glitzy glamorous shoes and what could be more glamorous than a pair of shimmery, glittery heels? You don’t necessarily have to buy shoes for partying because you can make them yourself. If you have got a pair of old heels that has little flaw like a small chip or light discoloration, take that and turn it into the most amazing pair of party heels you’ve ever owned. Simply cover your whole shoe in glue like Modge Podge and then dusting it with glitter and letting it dry and settle. If you want chunkier bits to make your shoes shine,  you can also use sequins.
