A tunic top is one of the most versatile piece of clothing item that you can add to your wardrobe, especially during the warmer months. Tunic tops are loved by a lot of women because they’re comfortable, lightweight and most of the time, the material or fabric in which tunic tops are made from is breathable which means that it can keep you cool despite the hot weather. Tunics come in different styles and designs and each feature various lengths and fits. Each of these styles and designs are made to flatter a specific body figure. If you want to know how you can look good in a tunic top, read our tips below:

  • Pear body shape – women who have a pear shaped body should go for tunic tops that feature side vents which will prevent it from clinging to the thighs and the behind. Tunic tops with a wide neck opening is also ideal as it can help make the shoulders a bit broader. Having a pear shaped body means that the heaviest area is the waist so to avoid emphasizing this, stay away from tunic tops that fall exactly on the waist. Rather, go for ones that fall either above or under it.

  • Apple body shape – tunic tops that cling tightly to the body should be avoided by women who have an apple shaped body. Apple shaped figures are often heavy on the top (e.g., bigger breasts, broader shoulders) so to conceal that and create an illusion of a smaller tope, women with this body shape should get tunic tops in darker colors and/or smaller prints and patterns. A V-neck tunic can also help make you look smaller on the top.

  • Hourglass body shape – considered the sexiest of all body figures, women with an hourglass body shape are lucky to be able to wear any kind of tunic top. However, if you really want to show off your sexy shape and feature those curves, you can go for a more fitted tunic top that will hug your body in all the right places.

  • Full figure – women who have a full figure often make the mistake of donning on just about anything that’s loose but this creates an unflattering shapeless tent. If you’re full figured and want to wear a tunic, go for those that are not too tight or too loose. It may take a while to find one but it sure is better than wearing something that won’t look good on you. A wide neckline and small prints and patterns could help you heaps, too.

When wearing tunics, no matter what your body shape is, make sure to pair it with a bottom that gives a slimmer and more slender silhouette like straight cut pants, leggings or skinny jeans and do not wear them with a skirt. If you want a more feminine look, go for a tunic dress instead. Keep you accessories to a minimum when wearing tunics. Often, these tops already have nice details on them which foregoes the need for accessories.
