Tips on How to Wear Purple Lipstick like a Pro | Aelida

Hi Beauties!

Have you tried purple lipstick? It may sound a little scary for some, but the right shade can give the face a fresh, youthful look thats a bit different from the usual pinks, corals and reds. The key is to be careful about the blue-tones, which can look a little deathly. I have 6 lipsticks to share with you if you need some ideas.
The most wearable and flattering purple lipsticks have more pink undertones than blue. Go too blue and you may end up looking like a corpse bride! Lighter skins should also be a bit more careful wearing stronger, bluer  purples on the lips because the sharp contrast can look sickly.

The shades shown above are listed below (Left to Right)

MAC RiRi Boy – I’m wearing this in the first photo as well. This is a soft lilac with a Retro Matte finish (Limited Edition – $15)  Review

MAC Feel My Pulse – a berry purple with a very comfortable Cremesheen finish (Limited Edition – $15)

CoverGirl Divine – a creamy pink-heavy purple. A great one to start with if you are new to purple lipsticks. (Drugstores – $6)

Milani Sweet Grape – a sheer purple with gold shimmer (Drugstores – $7)

Maybelline Brazen Berry – creamy medium-toned pinky-purple (Drugstores – $6) Review

Revlon Violet Frenzy – a sheer and deep reddish-purple (Drugstores – $5)

And thats it!

Purple isn’t exactly a natural color for the lips, so make this a statement! Go easy on the eyes and the rest of the face to let the rich tones of the lipstick shine!
