Hi there Beauties,
Today’s post features possibly my favorite concealer of all time! Yup, its that deep! MAC’s Pro Longwear Concealer has been a go-to product for me for several months, especially during the summer heat because of its stay-put and maximum coverage properties.
This long-lasting concealer claims to keep full coverage for up to 15 hours with a natural matte finish. I never actually timed it but I can attest that it does last beyond a normal working day. The problem I had with other concealers like the Studio Finish, was that throughout the day, the coverage would fade or sheer out from my inner grease-monster, but I am thrilled that this Pro Longwear Concealer stands up to the test.
I use the shade NW 45, which is a pretty perfect match for me, on blemishes or discoloration around my face. Sometimes when I feel fancy, I’d use shade NW 40, which is a few shades lighter than my natural skin tone, to brighten under my eyes and under my brow.
Now lets get down to the nitty gritties in a Wham-Bam-Thank-You-Maam style.
Packaging – I really enjoy that the concealer comes in a compact glass vile with a “ThankTheHeavens” pump! Really, you give me anything with a pump and I’m over the moon. Ha! But seriously, the packaging is very sleek and easy to travel with. Plus, the pump keeps things sanitary and you know how I get with that. Sometimes its a little tricky if you want to pump the tiniest bit, but it just takes some practice.
Consistency – This concealer is a fairly thick liquid but it does not feel heavy on the skin. Also, it blends easily before setting, after which it becomes a little more difficult to work with (which is what you’d want from a long-wear product).
Coverage – I’d say this is a medium to buildable full coverage with a semi-matte to matte finish. You wouldn’t be covering tattoos with this but it will conceal most discolorations on the face without looking cakey.
Longevity – As said before, this product lasts all day (up to 15 hours is its claim). I’ve been exposed to pretty insane temperatures this summer and it didn’t budge on me once.
Shade Range – One reason I always fall back to MAC is because they include a variety of shades to suit just about anyone. The Pro Longwear line comes in 16 shades to match not only light to dark shades but also warm and cool tones.
Price – The Pro Longwear Concealer retails for $19 on MAC’s website and wherever MAC Cosmetics products are sold.
And there you have it! I think this is a great concealer that covers superbly and still looks so natural on the skin. While I don’t wear concealer everyday, when I do, this is the one I reach for.
I give MAC’s Pro Longwear Concealer 5/5!
