Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser Review

This post seemed so trivial to write since I use this product at least twice a day in the most mundane way. But what’s better than a review on something that’s used so often? Besides sprinkled chocolate cupcakes, nothing! Today’s review is on my tried and true face wash, Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser Review
This wash comes in a liquid/gel form that is contained in a generously-sized bottle with a convenient pump. I prefer gel cleansers because I find they clean my skin more thoroughly without having to wash too many times.
Deep Clean is formulated for Normal to Oily skin but I do not find it drying at all (when used in moderation). In the morning or on makeup-free skin, I lather once with my Clarisonic (review here) and simply rinse off. In the evening or after I have worn makeup, I usually wash once with my hands to remove the bulk of the makeup and then once again with the Clarisonic to make sure all the grime from makeup and the day is off completely. After that last rinse, my face feels squeaky clean!
I have repurchased this cleanser repeatedly over the course of about two years simply because it does one job very well – deep clean! It does not contain acne medication, abrasive exfoliants or other ingredients that can further dry the skin out or cause possible complications. It works by reaching deep into the pores to dissolve dirt, oil and makeup.
Neutrogena Deep Clean is widely available in drugstores retailing between $5 and $9. The Deep Clean line also includes cream and scrub cleansers as well. If you have a drier skin type, I would recommend the cream formula.
Overall, I love this cleanser because it does what it promises. I get a very clean feeling every time I use it. I have trusted Neutrogena products from since my early teens and now that I don’t need their acne treatments, this simple wash gets the job done beautifully without excessively drying me out.
I give the Deep Clean Facial Cleanser 5/5.
