Ways to Wear Dark Berry Colors for Fall | Aelida

Unlike spring and summer, fall usually abounds of deep, dark, rich and warm colors. Blacks, blues, browns and grays are the usual colors that you’d see but of course, if these are too dull for you, you can also go with a bit more of the colorful hues like berry shades. There are quite a few berry shades that you can choose from and sport. From deep red berry to almost plum-ish hues, your berry colors are all you need to add more color to your fall look. Here are some of my favorite ways to wear dark berry colors for fall.

  • Dark berry nails – let’s start off with something more subtle and totally wearable for everyone: velvet berry nails. Dark berry colors just go best with the texture of velvet for fall. Ciate has a full line of velvet manicure sets but they can be a little expensive so if you’re looking for cheaper alternatives, try going on Amazon for some crushed velvet to use with regular nail polish. If you’re not up for fuzzy nails, though, you can go for the gel version or the regular glossy / satin finish.

  • Berry lips – a bolder way to wear berry colors this fall is to sport a really sexy and bold berry lip color. If you’re looking for something that will give you luscious, vampy lips, this is the way to go. Use it with minimal makeup for a gorgeous daytime look or with an earthy smoky eye at night to get that sexy, sultry look. You can achieve berry lips using lipstick or various lip stains. Some of my favorites include NARS in Fast Ride, YSL Rouge Volupte in Forbidden and Revlon Color Stay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in Brilliant Bordeau.

  • Eye makeup – dark berry eye makeup is a great alternative to your run-of-the-mill dark fall look. Instead of using the usual blacks and browns, use shades of berry. It’s going to give you the same neutral eye look but with a more interesting twist. Eye shadows in various berry shades also tend to make brown eyes pop so if you have brown eyes, you might want to give this a try. Go all out on berry eye shadow shades with berry themed palettes like Sleek’s Vintage Romance palette or Revlon Colorstay 12 Hour Eye Shadow Quad in 350 Berry Bloom.

  • Sexy berry-colored dress – this fall, ditch your Little Black Dress for a sexier dress in a juicy berry hue. It’s a more feminine look plus it’s a refreshing look away from the usual LBD. A sexy berry-colored dress is just as versatile as your LBD and can be dressed up or dressed down depending on when and where you will be wearing it.
