What is my body type? | Aelida

Our body types are very important when it comes to figuring out how to dress up and what to wear. Basically, it’s all about the physical attributes.

There are outfits that may look good on others but not on you. That is because we have different body types compared to others. Do you want to know how to dress for your body type? Read on to find out more so you can start on expressing yourself!

The apple shaped body is one of the more challenging body types to dress, but also one of the easiest when you’re camouflaging trouble spots. You’re blessed with slim arms and legs, which can be used to your advantage. Having an apple shaped body means your upper body is larger than your lower half.

Although you do have some problem areas, an apple shaped body usually also has some positive areas you can emphasize. All have to do is emphasize on your legs and neck, drawing away attention from your waist and shoulders.

Do that by wearing Flared denims, loose tops, v-necks, short skirts. Never wear Round necks, skinny tops, anything that draws attention to your waist. Beading or embellishment at the bust line can help as well. Wide-legged trousers keep your look more even and proportionate.

For the Pear shaped body type, the bottom part of your body is heavier. What that means is that the widest part of your body is below your waist, around your hips. The trick here is to wear skinnier bottoms like straight leg trousers.

If you’re a pear, your fashion goal is to elongate your figure so that you look less bottom-heavy. Go ahead and wear Bootcut trousers, brightly coloured and patterned tops paired with darker, structured skirts or jeans, boat necks or cowl necklines.

But never wear Tops and tunics that end at the hips and lighter coloured bottoms. You can check out the styles of celebrities that has a pear shaped body like Jennifer Lopez, Shakira and Kim Kardashian.

As for the Hourglass shaped body, it means you have equal hip and bust measurements with a narrow waist. If you’re one of the lucky few with this body type, dress to flatter your beautiful curves.

Ideal tops for the hourglass shape are scooped or V necks as these will accentuate your bust. Wear wide leg trousers, knee length hems, low necklines, pencil skirts, fitted jackets, waist-clinching and graphic patterns, slim belts, skinny denims.

Having any of these body shapes, doesn’t mean you have a problem with the body you have. Just take fgood care of it and the rest will follow.
