Clove Studded Oranges
|With the holiday season upon on us, I so look forward to all the traditions it comes with. There are so many, old and new! My favorite to do with my three amazing little ones, is a very old tradition, from the 15th century. Clove studded oranges. They look gorgeous and smell wonderful.
What you need is: Oranges, whole cloves, and toothpicks.
First poke holes in the orange with a toothpick in the pattern or design you want. Just like my sweet little helper! Then put the cloves in.
Making holes first, helps the cloves go in easier without crushing them.
Simply awesome right?! I don’t remember exactly when we started doing this, but my kids and I get so excited to enjoy Christmas music and make pomanders together. Good family time too:) And I love seeing what kind of patterns their little creative minds come up with each year. No two are ever the same.
Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season!
