Through this elegant gluten-free recipe, you can practically meet lavishness and economic practicality. Certainly, you can’t wait for another minute to know how to do it straight from your own kitchen.

Original recipe needs the following: 6 lemon peels, cut into 1/4 inch strips; 1 cup water; 4 orange peels, cut into 1/4 inch strips; 1/3 orange peels, cut into 1/4 inch strips; and 2 cups white sugar

Here we go.

First, place a lemon and orange peel in a large saucepan. Add water then cover the pan. Set the temperature to a high heat to boil the aforementioned ingredients for 20 minutes. Drain. Set it aside.

Second, combine two cups of sugar and a cup of water in a medium- sized sauce pan. Boil and cook it until it reaches the so-called  thread stage. To know whether or not it is already on this stage, put a small amount of it in cold water. If it forms a soft thread, you are all- set for the next procedure.

Third, stir in the peel. Simmer for at least five minutes. Drain.

Lastly, roll the peel pieces in sugar. Let it dry on a wire rack for several hours. Put it in an airtight container and serve to your guests.

To do it, all you need to do is to follow this three-step process. So, if you’re ready, let us get it on!

You’ll basically need the following ingredients: 3 drops red liquid food coloring, 125g copha, 250g desiccated coconut, 2 egg whites, lightly whisked, 500g pure icing sugar, sifted, and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract.

  1. Line a 7 by 7 inch pan with waxed paper.
  2. Heat water and sugar gently in a medium- sized sauce pan. Dissolve sugar. Bring it to a boil under a 240- degree Fahrenheit setting on a candy thermometer. You are in the correct process when you drop a little of syrup in a glass of cold water and see a soft ball form after doing so.
  3. Remove from heat. Then, stir in vanilla and coconut for 5 to 10 minutes until it thickens.
  4. Pour half of the mixture into the waiting pan. Level the surface using a knife to achieve an even surface. Color it by putting a dissolved food color in water (as prepared beforehand). Add the half of the mixture on top of the colored layer. Allow to harden.
  5. When it is already firm, turn out the pan and remove the paper. Cut it into cubes.
