Kardashian Khroma Shebang Quick Transformation Kit: Review + Swatch
|Do you Keep Up with the Kardashians?
Well you must know that they came out with a cosmetics line that is currently selling in Ulta. I’m probably not cool enough to know this in advance, but I discovered this kit at a recent trip to my nearest beauty oasis. The Shebang Eye Transformation Kit by Khroma Beauty contains an eyeshadow palette, sponge applicator, eye-pencil and false lashes with glue.
I really liked the colors of the eyeshadow palette, which is the only reason I purchased the kit but thought the extra bonus of the lashes, pencil and spongy things was nice. So let me start with the shadows.
All of the shades are a mixture of a satin and shimmery finish and are pretty neutral for the most part. The texture and quality is much nicer and smoother than I expected. Application is very easy and they are all very pigmented and transfer and blend easily. I can see most of these as dupes for higher-end eye shadows. I am overall, very pleased and satisfied with these. They make for a very beautiful neutral or smokey eye!
I’m not that fond of the packaging of the palette, which is made of plastic but has a good weight to it that makes it feel like a higher quality product than it looks.
The swatches above correlate with the order of the palette above. These were all just one swipe from the shadows.
In the photo above, I created this eye look with 5 of the 6 shadows.
– I used the Peachy shadow (3rd from the left) in the inner corner as a highlight,
– the Taupe shade (1st from the left) as the lid color and applied it to the center of the lid.
– For the outer/defining color, I used the dark brown-purple (6th from the left) and carried it throughout the outer crease and lash line.
– To warm up the crease further, I lightly brushed the reddish-brown (2nd from the left) along the crease.
– Lastly, I swiped a sheer pass of the yellow shade (4th from the left) on my brow bone to highlight that area.
DUPES:
From my own collection, the pinky-taupe shade (1st from left) is a pretty good dupe for MAC’s Saddle.
The brownish-red (2nd from left) is similar to a mixture of MAC’s Antiqued and Cranberry.
The peach shade (3rd from left) can be a dupe for MAC’s All that Glitters.
The brown/bronze shade (5th from left) is a lot like MAC’s Bronze.
If you are in the market for any of those colors, this palette is definitely worth it!
Well that’s enough for the shadows.
Just off the bat, I do not care for the pencil and will probably never use it again. It swatches easily on my arm but does not transfer to my eyes almost at all! Believe it or not, I used it in the photos above. It is far too hard and would require too much pushing and tugging to get even a sheer transfer of the color. It’s quite a disappointment.
It’s cute that they included a sponge applicator but let’s face it. I’m never gonna use that. Sorry.
Well thats about all there is to it.
This kit is sold for $14.99 at Ulta and can be a nice gift to yourself or stocking stuffer for someone else.
I really like the shadows and may purchase more from this line in the future. I do not think the shadows are sold separately from this kit at this time, which is kinda sad.
