My Top 5 Summer Beauty Products | Aelida

Christal | November 7, 2015 | Beauty Tips | Hi there Beauties, The end of June seemed to just have snuck up on me in a flash! I really don’t know what I did with the last 4 weeks. Ha! Anywho’s, here’s a short list of some things I’ve been loving over the last 30 days.

Let’s start with the lips, because let’s be real – its where the party is anyway, right?

1. MAC’s Lady Danger Lipstick

I’ve been getting a ton of use out of MAC’s Lady Danger (above). It is a super bright orangey, matte  red that I think looks gorgeous on warm skin. This is the brightest red I could find in the store and it does a great job of livening up the face and adding a serious pop of color. This has been my go-to red for the spring and summer because it is so bright and fun!

2. MAC’s Pro Longwear Concealer

MAC’s Pro Longwear Concealer is a full coverage liquid concealer that doesn’t budge. Initially, I purchased this because I noticed my Studio Finish concealer wasn’t lasting over blemishes throughout the day, especially in the heat – but this baby definitely picks up the slack! I have been applying NW45 on blemishes and NW40 under my eyes for a brightening effect.

3. Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair Night Moisturizer

This has been in my nighttime routine for the last couple of months. It does contain Retinol, which helps turnover cells more rapidly to improve elasticity and tone. I have noticed that my skin is much softer and more even-toned since using it. I plan to get the daytime moisturizer from this line as soon as my current lotion runs out.

4. Sinful Colors Nail Polish

I’m not going to lie. I have been a bit of a snob when it comes to nail polish sometimes. I have seen this Sinful Colors line in drugstores for over a year with an insane price tag of less than $2 and I automatically thought they couldn’t be any good! However, the vast array of vibrant shades finally pulled me in and I had to surrender!  The conclusion? I am genuinely impressed! The application is smooth, opaque and comparable to more expensive brands like China Glaze and OPI. The fact that they cost less than $2 means that you can try just about any color trend without committing to the rising prices of the bigger brands. Score and Score! 5. Cover Drive – “Explode” Now for a fun music favorite! I’ve got to show my Bajan stripes and give the Barbadian band Cover Drive some love! I have had the song Explode on repeat all month long! It was released for about a year now but for some reason I have had it in heavy rotation lately. Its such a fun, get-up-and-dance song. Plus, Amanda Reifer is stunning! Rihanna, look out! 🙂 So those are a few things I’ve been loving. What are your Favorite things from June?
